Job Description:Temple University announces a national search for the Founding Chair and Director for the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and invites nominations and expressions of interest for this exceptional opportunity. The College of Public Health is distinguished from other accredited schools of public health through its merging of clinical and population health disciplines, enabled by its 26 program-specific accreditations. Led by its most transformative dean, Laura A. Siminoff, PhD, the College has undergone major growth in the past five years, including significant faculty hiring of tenured/tenure track faculty as well as senior clinical positions. The College looks to expand some of its iconic and renowned programs to strengthen transdisciplinary education and leverage commonalities across the physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), athletic training (AT), and recreational therapy (RT) programs; this includes an exciting opportunity to incorporate a large undergraduate program in health professions to be housed in the new comprehensive Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. A critical success factor of the College of Public Health in expanding these changes is the recruitment of a nationally recognized leader with a distinguished record of achievement in research and scholastic work, education and administration, who can promote the educational, clinical, and research missions.
